Duplas brasileiras e da Polônia realizam intercâmbio de práticas esportivas na cidade sede do II International University Beach Games

A cidade de Maceió, que será sede do II International University Beach Games, recebeu esta semana o I Desafio Internacional Universitário de Vôlei de Praia, com a presença de equipes brasileiras que representarão o Brasil no Beach Games e de três duplas universitárias da Polônia. Os estudantes do Leste Europeu chegaram ao Brasil na última sexta-feira, 10, e já entraram a semana com uma agenda cheia. Entre segunda e quarta eles participaram de treinamentos em conjunto com a delegação brasileira formada pelos universitários de Instituições de Alagoas, e entre quinta e hoje realizaram as semifinais e finais do torneio.
O atleta polonês Stachu Szymankiewicz, um dos seis que participam do Desafio, afirmou estar encantado com o Brasil e com a recepção dos alagoanos. “Esta é a nossa primeira vez na América do Sul, e nós estamos aproveitando e nos divertindo muito. O clima é bem diferente da Polônia, principalmente porque agora é o final do inverno lá, mas nós simplesmente amamos estar aqui. Todos sorriem e estão sempre à disposição para nos ajudar. Esperamos retornar em breve”, disse.
Além de Stachu, também fazem parte da delegação polonesa Paweł Lewandowski, parceiro de Stachu, ambos da University of Environmental and Science in Wroclaw, a segunda dupla masculina, Piotr Staszewski e Piotr Adamczyk, air max 270 femme e a dupla feminina Dorota Chyży e Sandra Bembenek, os quatro estudantes da University of Economy in Wroclaw.
Resultados
No feminino, a dupla Dorota Chyży e Sandra Bembenek ficou em primeiro lugar, seguida pelo Brasil em segundo e terceiro. No masculino, a dupla Stachu e Paweł levou a primeira colocação, seguida por duplas brasileiras na segunda e terceira colocações.
Intercâmbio de práticas esportivas
Segundo Irã Cândido, presidente da Federação Alagoana do Desporto Universitário (FADU), entidade organizadora do Desafio, o evento configura-se como um intercâmbio de práticas esportivas e de experiências para os estudantes brasileiros e poloneses e também como preparativo para a delegação brasileira que competirá no Beach Games.
“Durante a semana, fizemos uso do espaço do Centro de Treinamento da Federação de Voleibol, com a participação de alunos de escolas de Maceió, que vieram assistir aos jogos, e os atletas puderam sentir como se estivessem em uma grande competição. Foi uma ótima aquecida para o evento da próxima semana, e hoje fechamos o torneio no palco do Beach Games, em uma grande estrutura, na praia”, destacou Irã.
II International University Beach Games
A segunda edição do International University Beach Games acontece entre 27 de março e 01 de abril, em Maceió, e contará com a participação de 250 atletas de mais de 10 países – Chile, Paraguai, Argentina, Bolívia, Brasil, Peru, Uruguai, Colômbia, além do time de intercambistas africanos da UFRR. Eles competem nas modalidades de beach hand, beach soccer, beach volleyball e beach tennis, nas categorias feminina e masculina.
O Brasil será representado por universidades do estado de Alagoas e pelas equipes vencedoras da última edição da Liga do Desporto Universitário de Jogos de Praia, realizada no final de 2016, em Aracaju.

I International University Beach Volleyball Challenge is hosted in Maceió, Brazil
Brazilian and Polish teams realized a sports practices exchange in the host city of the II International University Beach Games
The city of Maceió, which will host the II International University Beach Games, received this week the I International University Beach Volleyball Challenge, with the presence of Brazilian teams that will represent Brazil in the Beach Games and three university teams from Poland. The students from Eastern Europe arrived in Brazil last Friday, the 10th, and started the week with a full schedule. Between Monday and Wednesday they joined in training sessions with the Brazilian delegation, which includes university students from Institutions of the state of Alagoas, and between Thursday and Friday they had the semifinals and finals of the tournament.
The Polish athlete Stachu Szymankiewicz, one of the six participating in the Challenge, said he was delighted with Brazil and the reception of the people of Maceió. “It’s our first time in South America, and we are enjoying our time spending here. The weather is very different from Poland, mainly because now it’s the end of winter there, but we just love being here. Everyone smiles and always wants to help us. We hope to return soon”, he said.
In addition to Stachu, the Polish delegation is also composed by Paweł Lewandowski, Stachu’s partner, both from the University of Environmental and Science in Wroclaw, the second male team, Piotr Staszewski and Piotr Adamczyk, and the female team Dorota Chyży and Sandra Bembenek, the four students from the University of Economy in Wroclaw.
Challenge result
In the women’s category, the team Dorota Chyży and Sandra Bembenek won in the first place, followed by Brazil in second and third. In the men’s category, the team Stachu and Paweł took first place, followed by Brazilian teams in second and third places.
Sports practices exchange
According to Irã Cândido, president of the University Sports Federation of Alagoas (FADU), organizer of the Challenge, the event is a sports practices exchange and experiences for Brazilian and Polish students and also a preparation for the Brazilian delegation that will compete at the Beach Games.
“During the week, we used the Volleyball Federation Training Center, with the participation of students from schools in Maceió who came to watch the games, and the athletes could feel as if they were in a great competition. It was a great warm-up for the next week event, and today we closed the tournament on the Beach Games stage, in a big structure, on the beach”, said Irã.
II International University Beach Games
The second edition of the International University Beach Games will take place between March 27 and April 1 in Maceió, capital of Alagoas, and will feature 250 athletes from more than 10 countries – Chile, Paraguay, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Mexico, Uruguay, Colombia, as well as an African team in a student internship in Brazil. They compete in the beach hand, beach soccer and beach volleyball sports, in the female and male categories.
Brazil will be represented by universities of the state of Alagoas and the winning teams of the last edition of the Brazilian University Beach Games, held at the end of 2016.
